Museo Elder de la Ciencia y la Tecnología

The Elder Museum of Science and Technology, located in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in the cosmopolitan Santa Catalina Park near the port area, opened its doors in December 1999 in a building formerly owned by the British shipping company Elder Dempster Lines Ltd., which had been based on the island since 1884. Spread across four floors, it features interactive exhibits, temporary exhibition areas, a 3D cinema, a planetarium, a Canary Islands cetacean exhibit, and a children's area. It also offers space for workshops, panel discussions, conferences, and business events. With diverse disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, and Art all represented within its facilities, the museum serves as a bridge of communication with the public, transforming science into something accessible, participatory, and engaging for all audiences. This collection of rooms and activities demonstrates that the museum is much more than an exhibition center, becoming an alternative space where visitors can touch, manipulate, discover, and learn. It functions as a hub for promoting and exchanging knowledge in the field of scientific outreach, as well as a theme park dedicated to Science and Technology. Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sundays, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
