Áspid is a dialogue between dance and guitar designed for unconventional spaces. The piece employs new choreutic languages to explore, through the serpent’s presence in various classical mythologies, the relationship between woman and man. It begins in imbalance and moves toward equality, portraying the woman’s multiple universes —mother, wife, friend— and her connection to the world around her.
At the centre of the work is a train‑dress woven from cables, created by sculptor Susana Guerrero in collaboration with Vanesa Aibar. In mythology, weaving is linked to protection and defence; here it becomes a healing act, where the physical effort of manipulating cables exorcises fears, pains and desires shared across generations of women involved in the creation.
A physical, ritualistic piece that intertwines dance, visual art and mythology to reveal feminine strength, vulnerability and resilience.
