The differences between yesterday and today are minimal: the protagonists and the place change, but the circumstances remain. War forces a group of people to leave everything behind and embark on an uncertain journey, venturing into the sea to build a new future while slowly beginning to forget.
The piece explores what those who migrate feel as they fight to survive in another land, and what those who encounter them think. Without slogans, heroes or villains, it presents a mosaic of contrasting emotions: fear, confusion, hope, rejection, humanity. A close look at contemporary migration and at an old, weary Europe that often forgets to open its doors.
A work that invites us to listen, understand and acknowledge that, in this story, we are simply what we manage to be.
