Radiation from a satellite triggers a terrifying phenomenon: the dead rise from their graves and attack the living to feed on them. The story begins in a Pennsylvania cemetery, where Barbara, after being attacked by one of the undead, flees to a farmhouse. Ben has also taken refuge there. Together, they build barricades to defend themselves against a horde of ruthless zombies that can only be defeated by a blow to the head.
