Paradise II is a multidisciplinary performance created for unconventional spaces, combining performance art, dance theatre, flamenco, and live music. Inspired by the first panel of The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch, the piece explores, through the body, different ways of reaching paradise in everyday life and through our relationship with the surrounding environment.
The work connects the fragility of island territories in the face of external influences with the expressive qualities of movement, inviting both the audience and the performance space to become active participants in the experience. The quadraphonic sound design surrounds the audience, immersing them within the scenic environment.
Its adaptability to a wide variety of conventional and unconventional venues, together with the audience's central role in co-creating the unfolding performance, ensures that every presentation is a unique experience.
Paradise II is an ongoing process of artistic research—flexible, technically adaptable, and capable of maintaining its aesthetic and dramaturgical coherence in any context.
Featuring Alba Gil Aceytuno (live music), Gabriel Melgarejo (sound design and spatial sound manipulation), and Virginia Arencibia (director and performer), Paradise II invites audiences to take part in a shared act of artistic creation.
