Description
From October 1 to 3, the Suárez Naranjo Civic Center hosts the "Pella de Libros" Literary Days, a gathering that brings together writers, readers, and literature enthusiasts to celebrate books, the creative process, and conversation. Spearheaded by Gran Canaria-based writer Carmen J. Nieto—with the collaboration of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council and the Fuera de la Portada association—the event features three days of book presentations, interviews, panel discussions, lectures, and author meet-and-greets. The program includes prominent writers and literary professionals such as Carlos Zanón, Bea Osa, Susana Rodríguez Lezaun, Jon Arretxe, Santiago Gil, Emilio González Déniz, and Anna Starobinets, alongside other authors, journalists, and contributors. Over the course of the three days, the event will explore various genres, perspectives, and literary themes—ranging from crime fiction and historical true crime to the relationship between literature and place, the creative process, the legacy of Mercedes Pinto, and the role of books in shaping readers. "Pella de Libros" thus emerges as an open space for connection, listening, conversation, and sharing the joy of reading, bringing authors and readers together through a shared passion: books and the stories they hold.
