This stage piece presents a strange mechanical device—full of gears, belts and levers—that beats in sync with the heart of Greta, a tender elderly woman surrounded by books and stories. Each time her caregiver Pina listens to her heartbeat, the machine awakens and begins to create fantastical worlds: royal ballrooms, whaling ships, Quixotic giants, eerie castles and extraordinary journeys.

The performance turns reading into a playful and transformative space, where Greta’s overflowing imagination reshapes reality and draws Pina into a universe of living tales. A tribute to fantasy, to books, and to the human ability to see life “in a different way”.
